What is endovenous foam

It is a chemical which irritates the inside wall of the vein causing it to close

What is the chemical we inject? 


It is called polidocanol.

How exactly do we do it

We place a small needle (almost painless) into your vein while looking at the needle with ultrasound. That way, we ensure the needle is not wrongly placed. 


We then inject foam. You may feel slight burning but the procedure is practically painless. 


After the procedure, you may have a little pain along the vein, little bruising or you may feel a small lump. All these should disappear in a few days in most patients.
